On 30th November 2025, Valorial held an interactive citizen science action on algae for a class of 18 CE2 students (ages 8–9) at a primary school in Rennes, France.
During a 30-minute session, children learned about the nutritional and environmental benefits of algae through a short presentation and hands-on tastings of PRAXENS drinks and LEMPA baked goods. They compared colours, flavours, and textures to better understand how algae can be used in food.
The workshop ended with a lively quiz and a short satisfaction survey, giving students the chance to reflect on what they had discovered.
This activity successfully introduced young learners to algae as a sustainable, innovative resource for the future—combining science, taste, and curiosity in a fun and educational experience.
