Our partners Valorial, LEMPA and PRAXENS celebrated their citizen science action during the event “Salon de l’Algue” on 23^rd of November, 2025 in the Halle de la Courrouze, Rennes, Bretagne, France.

This event is designed to showcase the expertise, products, services, and know-how of professionals across the algae value chain. It celebrated algae in all its forms: from food, cosmetics, and health products to bio-based materials and cutting-edge technologies, demonstrating its vital role in sustainable development and the blue economy.

Consumers, families, curious visitors, and eco-conscious citizens had the chance to visit our partners booth where they presented algae through simple explanations, posters, and sensory demonstrations. Praxens provided spirulina-based drinks to compare natural colour intensities, while Lempa offered cookies with different algae concentrations. These visual and tasting experiences helped illustrate how algae influence flavour, colour, and nutrition

Interactions with amateur collectors and professionals shifted into more technical discussions about algae production and uses, and about the Hub4Food project, demonstrating the stand’s versatility and public interest in algae topics.
