On October 15^th, our partner MARE – IPLeiria  celebrated the event “From the Ocean to Society: a Sustainable Way”, held at the School of Tourism and Maritime Technology (ESTM).

Throughout the day, about 49 participants, including secondary school and university students, took part in a Citizen Science Action, learned about the Hub4Food – Atlantic Innovation Hub project, and joined the hands-on session “Exploring Flavours with Microalgae”, led by researchers Sónia Barroso and Tânia Ferreira.

During this workshop, participants discovered the benefits of microalgae for health and the environment, explored their applications in food products, and took part in a sensory tasting, reflecting on the potential of these microalgae as ingredients of the future.
