Cold plasma

Cold plasma is a non-thermal technology that uses a gas that has been ionized (ionised gas) and is characterized by active elements, such as atoms, reactive oxigen, free radicals, ions, and electrons that are generated by the application of energy to a gas system.
Inactivation of microbes on food matrices and food contact surface resulting in microbial disinfection; enzymes inactivation, pesticide, mycotoxin and allergen degradation; increase concentraion of bioactive compounds; enhance antioxidant activity; and packaging modification.
